Naomi Campbell Criticises Kim Kardashian’s Vogue Cover While Kelly Osbourne Slams The Haters

Supermodel said appearing on Vogue cover is a stepping stone for any model but the Fashion Police star urges critics to ‘stop raining on their parade’

It was the talk of the fashion world when they landed their first cover last week.
But fashionistas have not taken to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s Vogue spread lightly, with some readers threatening to cancel their subscription to the monthly glossy.

And now supermodel Naomi Campbell has spoken out about the controversial cover – reluctantly admitting that it’s beneficial to fashion models, not reality stars.
Speaking on Australia’s This Morning show, the 43-year-old British model didn’t want to comment at first but replied after being nudged further by the show’s presenters.
“Because I'm a fashion model and I've been working for 28 years, and when you get a Vogue cover, it's building your career,” she said.
"It's a stepping-stone to achieve that. And I'm a fashion model, what more can I say?"

The show’s presenter then asked her if she thought Kimye had ‘earned the right’ to appear on the cover – which she denied.
"Those are your words. I'm being politically correct. That's Anna Wintour's choice to put them on the cover of her magazine. Who's to question it?" she said.
Across the globe, E!’s Fashion Police presenter Kelly Osbourne came out in defence of the power couple – telling haters to stop ‘raining on their parade.’
Writing on her blog, the 29-year-old style expert admitted she could understand why fashionistas weren’t keen on the cover as it was more suited to a prom magazine.

“There is no denying that it looks like a really beautiful picture for the cover of prom magazine so I understand why the fashionistas of the world would not like it [sic]”, she wrote.
“People are even going so far as to cancel their subscriptions or bloggers taking down the link to Vogue magazine. I don’t want to even go into the awful things people have said about them. I find this disgusting.”
But Ozzy Osbourne’s daughter came out in defence of the magazine’s editor Anna Wintour, who dined out with the fashionable couple last night.
“Regardless of whether or not you think Kim and Kanye are worthy enough to be on the cover, it’s not your decision to make. I do believe that would be up to Anna Wintour,” she said.
“Vogue would be not be what it is today without her foresight. She knows what she is doing and no one can make her do anything.”

And getting rather animated in her online post, Kelly said it’s a dream for anyone to appear on the cover of Vogue and urged people to stop hating.
“Sooooooo to all you people bashing Vogue, Kim, Kanye, and Anna stop and really think for a second because I am willing to bet my life that whether you recognize it or not somewhere hidden deep down inside of all of us is the dream of being on the cover of VOGUE!!! [sic]”, she said.
“So back off, stop shi****g on people’s dreams that have come true and try for once to be happy for other’s success. Stop raining on their parade!”

She also compared Kim and Kanye’s cover to the 2008 issue with LeBron James and Gisele Bundchen.
“I don’t think there has been this much controversy over an American Vogue cover since 2008 with their April issue featuring Lebron James and Gisele Bundchen!,” she wrote.
“As soon as it hit newsstands the world went insane over what was meant to be a ground breaking issue for Vogue as Lebron was the first black man to EVER be featured on their illustrious cover.”
What do you think? Did the couple deserve to be on the cover?
