Hollywood actor Richard Gere and his wife Carey Lowell have separated and are planning on divorcing. The couple, who have been married for 11 years and have a 13-year-old son together, have 'been spending time apart for quite some time.

' It's thought the pair made the decision due to their different lifestyles because while the 64-year-old heartthrob likes the quiet life, his former Bond girl wife, 52, is more of a fan of ‘socialising with other bigwigs’.
