"You Are Not A Good Muslim If You Cannot Tolerate Other People’s Religion" – Sheikh Says

A Muslim adviser of the Saudi Arabia kingdom, Sheikh (Dr.) Saad Al-Shathary, has said Islam is a religion of peace and Muslims must learn to co-exist harmoniously with people of other religion.

Vanguard reported that the sheikh made this call while delivering a speech during a public lecture titled ‘Islam and Peace’ at the University of Abuja, Gwagwalada.

In his welcome address, Chairman of the organising committee, Professor Effiok Uwatt thanked participants for honouring the invitation, noting that the need to sensitise the public about the true tenets of Islam informed the decision to convene the lecture.

According to him, the university is a home to people of diverse faith, stressing that knowledge of different beliefs would go a long way in deepening religious tolerance amongst students and staff of the citadel of learning.

“There is a need for us to get first-hand information of the relationship between Islam and peace and we believe our highly respected lecturer is eminently qualified to do justice to the topic.”

Dr. Al-Shathary in his opening remarks warned against listening to scholars with questionable knowledge of the Holy Quran, arguing that such are largely to blame for the fallacious beliefs non-Muslims erroneously associate with Islam.

On the place of peace in Islam, the cleric quoted copiously from the Holy Quran, Surat 21 verse 69, noting that Muslims are enjoined to live harmoniously even with those who do not share their faith.

Al-Shathary stated that: “Do not consider yourself a Muslims if you cannot tolerate others, regardless of their beliefs. “Until you love everyone you come across, you are not a true worshiper of Allah.”

Meanwhile, the Sultan of Sokoto has warned religious leaders to desist from preaching violence to their followers. Sultan raised the alarm that churches and mosques are being used as a place to peddle inciting messages that could lead to serious religious war.

The Sultan said: “We are more worried with the use of places of religious worship to preach hatred, violence and other issues that tend to divide us rather than strengthening our unity as a people created by one God.”

University Big Girl Runs Mad After Leaving Her Lover's House

A university big girl, said to be in her final year in a private university in Delta State, allegedly ran mad after she was reportedly pummeled by her boyfriend at the weekend.

Her roommates reportedly screamed for help when the Business Administration undergraduate started taking off her clothes immediately after she left her boyfriend’s house, said to be few miles away from their hostels.

According to Leadership, the lady took her phone out of bag and slammed it on the floor, brought out her clothes and set fire on them before some onlookers grabbed her.

An eye witness, Joy Tobi said her roommate had tried to calm her down when it started like a joke, unfortunately, she had gone too far with the unfolding suspected madness, calling “saviour, saviour, look at what you have done”.

She was said to have been held by some around the school and was later taken to the hospital where she is at present, responding to treatment.

Sources said this is like the third time a female student have allegedly been in mad display, and it always connecting to visiting strange men or lovers.

A lecturer however said the lady's madness could be associated with spiritual evil acts.

Rapper Kid Cudi checks into rehab for depression, suicidal urges

Kid Cudi has checked himself into rehab for depression and suicidal thoughts.

The rapper announced on his Facebook page that he entered Monday, saying he hasn't felt at peace for years and made the decision to get help for himself, his family, his best friend/daughter and his fans. That he felt ashamed and as if he were living a lie before seeking help. That without treatment, he said, he might have harmed himself:

Cudi wrote:

Its been difficult for me to find the words to what Im about to share with you because I feel ashamed. Ashamed to be a leader and hero to so many while admitting I've been living a lie. It took me a while to get to this place of commitment, but it is something I have to do for myself, my family, my best friend/daughter and all of you, my fans.
Yesterday I checked myself into rehab for depression and suicidal urges.
I am not at peace. I haven't been since you've known me. If I didn't come here, I wouldve done something to myself. I simply am a damaged human swimming in a pool of emotions everyday of my life. Theres a ragin violent storm inside of my heart at all times. Idk what peace feels like. Idk how to relax. My anxiety and depression have ruled my life for as long as I can remember and I never leave the house because of it. I cant make new friends because of it. I dont trust anyone because of it and Im tired of being held back in my life. I deserve to have peace. I deserve to be happy and smiling. Why not me? I guess I give so much of myself to others I forgot that I need to show myself some love too. I think I never really knew how. Im scared, im sad, I feel like I let a lot of people down and again, Im sorry. Its time I fix me. Im nervous but ima get through this.
I wont be around to promote much, but the good folks at Republic and my manager Dennis will inform you about upcoming releases. The music videos, album release date etc. The album is still on the way. Promise. I wanted to square away all the business before I got here so I could focus on my recovery.
If all goes well ill be out in time for Complexcon and ill be lookin forward to seeing you all there for high fives and hugs.
Love and light to everyone who has love for me and I am sorry if I let anyone down. I really am sorry. Ill be back, stronger, better. Reborn. I feel like shit, I feel so ashamed. Im sorry.
I love you,
Scott Mescudi
You'll remember Cudi lashed out at mentor Kanye West and Drake last month for not working with him and using others to write songs. 'Ye responded to the rapper at a recent show, telling him to "Respect the God!"
