Who Is Tweeting From Goldie’s Twitter Account?

It’s been barely three weeks since Pop singer Susan ‘Goldie’ Harvey passed away and her Twitter account is already being used to promote a Nigerian movie portal.

The Twitter handle @GoldieHarvey which was used to announce the death of the singer and also communicate details of a candlelight procession held in her honour is now tweeting links to listen to Tonto Dike’s music and also watch Nigerian movies.

‘Tonto – Jeje (Official) : Tonto, the latest music sensation release her latest single titled “Jeje” produced by… http://fb.me/uLNYSur9‘, a tweet reads. ‘WATCH : King’s FirstBorn: Watch free nollywood movies in english and yoruba An unhappy wedding planner (Tonto… http://fb.me/S3Fcq54x‘, another tweet reads.

The links posted along with the tweets redirect to a website nigerianmovietube.com. While pundits agree it’s ‘in bad taste’, no one knows for now who is behind the act – her label? friends? family? Or husband Andrew?

Read Goldie's husband and best friend Denrele Edun's tributes to her

Goldie with Harvey and  Denrele

Below is Andrew Harvey's tribute to his wife

Susan you walked into my life, it was like God sent you as a fresh breath. I still remember your response to my first love message. You said 'Love killed romeo, sent Diana to an early grave and killed Jack on the Titanic. Forget about love, just have friendship and live long.
Overtime our love grew to a depth I have never known. You were the best years of my life, your smile, your desire to live your dream.
Read Denrele's tribute after the cut...

My super star friend sways away and I stand watching till she fades on the horizon and someone at my side says "she's gone"...Gone where?

Gone from my sight, that is all. She is just as gorgeous now as when last I saw her. Her slightly disappearing figure and total loss from my sight is in me, not in her.

And just at that moment, when someone at my side says she's gone, there are others who are watching her coming over their horizon and other voices take up a glad shout - There she comes! That is what dying is - an horizon and just the limit of our sight.

My lifeline, my lexicon, therapist and support system…we have known lots of pleasure, at times endured ppai, we have lived in the sunshine and walked in the rain. I had acute malaria (was shaking terribly) but performed “skibobo” with you at the Industry Night and Loud&Proud show, I sprained my ankle but still shot your three videos in a row in S/A.

I left my family house and moved in with you and your family right after all the Big Brother Africa madness, I did all the damage control…

I fought every organizer simply cos I wanted you on the bill with me and split my show earnings with you. I dragged you to the American Embassy even if it meant I had to get up at 4am. I endured negative criticism because shallow minds couldn’t comprehend your brand essence – I started wearing block heels (you got me the most fabulous pair of Jeffrey Campbells) and I damned the consequences. I recorded the reality show “Tru Friendship” with you because you went on and on about it and I wanted to please you.

I have been your fierce-alter ego in all your videos, I have fought your fights, endured countless eccentric P.As with you…I can go on and on and this is how you leave me? You chose an eternal sleep over a fabulous life with me? Lest I forget, I ate the entire box of birthday chocolates Bola sent to you!

Phew, I can’t type anymore, I’m playing “Good To Me” (always disturbed you to release that song) and my notepad is a misty mass of my never ending tears. So sad when people who give you the best memories, become a memory!

The Goldie I knew, despite your success and worldwide recognition, still wondered, “Am I good enough?” “Am I pretty enough?” “Will they like me?” It was this burden that made you great…And that made you stumble in the end.

Goldie if you can hear me now, you weren’t good just good enough – You were abso-frigging-lutely GREAT! You sang the whole damn song without a band- you made the picture of a showbiz star look so perfect!

Your parting has left a void, but I will fit it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss and oh yes, these things I too will miss. Even though we are separated and for a time apart, I am not alone cos you’re forever in my heart. I will move mountains to continue your legacy, I will crash ceilings to spread your good works, I will break barriers to sell your “market” but above all, I will cherish the awesome times we spent together…You will forever be my source of infinity!

We wore the same shoe size and had the same body proportions. You made me start strutting lashes and recall I wore that black dress of yours you never got to wear? No masterpiece can ever match your face! To everyone reading this piece, let my dear friend rest in peace! Speak no evil about her, she was too good to be true!

I can hear you say to me…Mbirikoko, do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep, Do not stand at my grave and cry…I am not there, I did not die!

Goldie’s last days

Goldie

You’ve heard that phrase before, “Live every moment as if it was your last.” In this season, as we remember singer, Goldie Harvey who passed on last week, it now more than ever before bears repetition. If the ‘Touch my body” singer knew that she was nearing the end of her days on earth, would she have done things differently? It’s quite difficult to say; because the dead don’t talk. But as we go through the last days of Goldie Harvey, perhaps you can answer that question for yourself.

Her final event

The last event Goldie Harvey officially attended was the 55th Grammy awards in Los Angeles. The singer is said to have arrived the event in the company of Kenny Ogungbe, Founder of Kennis Music and Nollywood actor cum politician, Richard Mofe Damijo on February 12.

Goldie Last Photo

However, because there were no photos taken in the actual hall or on the actual red carpet at the grammy awards, many believe that the bunch could not get into the venue. Until Goldie’s passing on, social media was awash with mix feelings about her leopard skin dress as well as her pose on the streets of Los Angeles and not at the Grammies. There’s an event we are sure she actually attended; a pre-Grammy party with American Musicians Ciara, and Chaka Khan on February 8th.

The Diva’s last words

It’s quite difficult to decipher what Goldie’s last words were, but her last tweet is one to remember. On February 13, few hours before she passed on, Goldie tweeted on her personal twitter page, OLUWAG?LDIE ?@GoldieHarvey:   “A season of abstinence enhances creativity, inner strength and major answers to prayer…?”

Goldie did her last photo shoot with her very close and equally controversial friend, Derenele Edun for SIMS magazine. Goldie looked Goddess-like in a black dress and magnificient make up for the shoot. Derenle was one of the last people who saw her alive.

Her last Interview

Goldie’s last known official interview was with an online station, Ibakatv in November 2012. In the five minute chat, the singer spotting a revealing gold dress opened up about her growing up, education, likes and dislikes and her experience in the Big Brother House. When asked about her beauty tips, Goldie said: “Surround yourself with happy people who will make you happy, because if you’re miserable, you’ll always feel ugly.”

The smile seemed to disappear from her face when asked about alleged visits between herself and Prezzo. “It’s my personal life” she said, “it’s my business and how I choose to live my life is no one’s business.” Ironically, Goldie though playfully, mentioned death in that interview. Her words: “I hate cockroaches, if I see a cockroach here, I could just take off my clothes and just die.”

The Controversial star’s last scandal

“What was Goldie’s last scandal?” This is one question that we will be trying to answer for years to come.  Just when we thought that the BBA drama with Prezzo would last us a lifetime, Goldie passed on mysteriously with a lot of hullaballoo as to the cause of her death.

Then came Andrew Harvey with the wedding pictures.  Before we could recover to take a breather, Ifeoma Harvey who claims to have been Goldie’s best friend says the deceased star snatched her husband, Andrew who is seriously ill in a hospital in Malaysia.

Whether friend or family, fan or foe, the Goldie situation sure makes you wonder: “What if today was my last day on earth?”

EXCLUSIVE GOLDIE INTERVIEW WITH MTVBASE BEFORE HER DEATH

Goldie Heavy

MTV Base: What should we expect from your new album?

Goldie: Basically, it's tagged the 'African invasion' album and I'm seeking to work with ten of the top African acts across the continent. We have the three "naughty" singles which are the first singles to drop off the album and they are "Miliki" featuring Navio from Uganda, "Give It To Me" featuring J. Martins from Nigeria and "Skibobo" featuring A.Y. from Tanzania. I tagged those "naughty" singles because they are very suggestive and playful.

MTV Base: Define "suggestive and playful."

Goldie: [laughs] When you listen to the songs and watch the videos, you will understand! Naughty…

MTV Base: OK… I think people understand what "naughty" means! So what will make this album different from your other albums apart from it having artists from all over Africa?

Goldie: Well, I actually think that's what will make it different. I am going all over Africa so I'm not just in my own bubble. I make sure that each time I record with these artistes I go to their own country. I went to Tanzania to record. I went to Uganda to record. I actually went to South Africa to record with Bonganie Fassie, but that one didn't make the "naughty singles" because it wasn't naughty. [laughs]

MTV Base: Tell us about your fashion/ fashion sense.

Goldie: Umm… Well, everything about me is naughty and a bit quirky. But umm… still provocative. Let's use that word: provocative. I think that is how I will describe my fashion sense. It will leave you talking. Good, bad: you will speak about it.

MTV Base: Ooh, we like that! "Good, bad: you will speak about it." So what exactly do you have for your fans in terms of fashion over the next year?

Goldie: Uhh… We're going for a more girl-next-door appeal this time. Because of the tag "African invasion" album, we're trying to go a little less edgy and more provocatively sexy instead of the edgy and bizarre. I'm going more with the "OK, I can rock that."

MTV Base: From the three "naughty" singles, which is your favorite?
Goldie: "Miliki" with Navio from Uganda.

MTV Base: Why?

Goldie: Because Navio is very hot. [laughs]. He's a dope rapper. The song can put you in the mood. If I wake up in the morning and listen to that song, I feel sexy instantly.

MTV Base: So you feel "sexy in the morning"?

Goldie: Yes, when I listen to "Miliki".

MTV Base: Define "I feel sexy in the morning".

Goldie: It means that I can go out there and take on the world. You know when you feel sexy, you feel in control. You feel that no-one can touch you unless you want to be touched and you just feel like there's something about you that people around you want to be a part of.

MTV Base: We like that "no one can touch you unless you want to be touched" bit. Is there anything else in particular that you want your fans to know concerning yourself, your music and your fashion?

Goldie: Well, you can follow me on Twitter @goldieharvey or like my Facebook page. That's it really.

MTV Base: OK, here's our last question. If you were going to compare yourself to an international artist, who would it be and why?

Goldie: It's really, really crazy. I can't see myself doing that. The lines have been blurred so much that I'm not similar to any one artist. I can't compare myself to anyone because there is now so much that I can do. I mean, I love Madonna and when I did "Jawo Jawo" a lot of people compared me to her because she did a song called "Material Girl". 'Til today, they actually still call me "Jawo Jawo" but I can actually be a lot more than that.

MTV Base: Is there anything about you that you want people to know about you that you think they don't know, especially when it comes to your music?

Goldie: [sighs] Let's see… When I'm on stage, I like to dramatize my songs. I like to create little movies. I don't want to just come on stage and perform, I prefer to have little stage plays. When you come to a show and watch me, you are actually seeing a live representation of what my music meant to me while I was recording it.

MTV Base: Alright, thank you very much.

Goldie: [laughs] I hope you got something!

We sure did: thanks again Goldie!

Goldie's husband, Andrew Harvey, opens up about the late singer

Goldie and husband

Goldie's husband opened up to Thenetng.com. Read the interview below...

When did you wed her?
And were you still married as at when she passed yesterday?
We wed in December 2005 and were very much married when she passed indeed I was talking to her on arrival in Lagos before the fateful event
I see you moved back to England. Do you have another family?
I work in Malaysia, we have a private home in UK, I do not have a second family
Also did you have kids together?
No kids, we were planning this year
There had been speculation for many years that she was married to an ‘oyinbo’ man. But no one could lay hands on anything. Why did you keep it a ‘secret’?
Our private life is nothing to do with work life, there has to be a balance

How did you hear of her death? I found out you last saw her in December?
I was talking to her on arrival in Lagos before the fateful event

How did you meet her? She must have been very young…
I met her at a friend’s leaving party and fell in love straight away, but had to work hard to persuade her I was genuine

So you will be planning to come here for burial rites…
Yes I have applied for visa and shall come next week

But how did you manage the Prezzo drama?
Prezzo was part of BBA game, just like in the movies, there was nothing to fear

But funny it dragged way beyond BBA
It dragged because the media dragged it, other wise it would have died naturally. Prezzo will say anything to get attention

Do you think he fell in love? And did you ever think Susan liked him for a minute…?
People fall in love and it’s not impossible to love more than one person, but there are different levels. She liked him initially, but began to despise him and distanced herself as he tried to use her she complained he was very manipulative

How did you come about your alias ‘Oyibopeppay?
Oyiiibopeppay is a name used in the villages for white man getting burned in the sun. I used to work in the bush erecting BTS for MTN and Glo

You have direct access to her password? The memories album was posted on her twitter. Or you requested for an admin to post?
I am an official admin. I don’t need any password but my own. It was authorised by Goldie

One last question: so much speculation on cause of death. I see from your facebook timeline that you’ve followed the reports. Have the doctors/family/label told you what the cause of death is?
An autopsy is being carried out and we will await results. The rest is speculation and hearsay

And did she have any medical condition?
She had no medical condition,

Is it true she was in India recently?
She was in Malaysia, we spent Christmas together away from prying eyes

What will you miss most about her?
Everything, she was the most beautiful person I ever met, no moment was wasted. Sweet, intelligent, sexy and a magnificent cook!!!!

And she was a determined young lady…
Very. That’s what I liked about her

Are you originally from England? Was she officially a citizen of your country by marriage? Or that was not concluded?
I’m from England and was processing Nigerian citizenship before I was transferred to Malaysia. Of course she was citizen of UK before we met, she lived and schooled there

She was indeed a star, as I’m sure you’ve seen from the tributes coming from far and near. Even the BBC and Billboard recognise her star
Yes we saw it on BBC news tonight. It is a devastating loss, but I support just as much wherever she has gone to.

Goldie label Kennis Music release official statement

Goldie and Kenny Ogungbe
Statement from the CEO of Kennis Music, Kenny Ogungbe pictured above with the late singer

“With a deep sense of loss, we announce the shocking death of our darling music star, Goldie Harvey. Goldie, 31, died on Thursday after she complained of a severe headache shortly after her arrival from the United States where she went to witness the Grammy Award.
She was rushed from her Park View, Ikoyi, Lagos residence to her official hospital, Reddington, Victoria Island, Lagos, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival at exactly 7:30pm in the evening. We consider this period a gloomy moment for us and the entire Nigerian music industry in view of the circumstance in which she passed away; the abundance of talent she exhibited in her short but eventful music career and the various opportunities her trip to the United States of America would have availed her. She is survived by her father, step- mother, brothers and sisters.

We deeply sympathise with her family and fans all over the world and very grateful to all and sundry, especially, the vibrant Nigerian media for their concern and prompt reportage. We shall keep everybody informed as events unfold as we are devastated by the sudden loss.” Goldie's remains has been deposited at the mortuary. I'm not blogging today...will only bring you update about her untimely demise. Let's use the whole day to mourn her. Goldie and I recently became friends after she called me for a heart to heart. She was also best friends with one of my best friends, Denrele. RIP, angel. Only God knows why this happened.

Shocking and Sad news: Singer Goldie Harvey is dead

Goldie
I'm in shock. Just got a call from her best friend and my close friend, Denrele Edun. He told me Goldie died a few minutes ago in his arms at Reddington Hospital in Victoria Island.

Goldie just came back from the US today he said, and was so full of life, then something went tragically wrong. Will get all the details from him in a bit, he was crying so much and had to switch off his phone.

I'm shaking so bad. She and I had a conversation a few days ago while she was in the US. Oh dear Lord. Is this how people die? May her soul rest in peace..Amen.

Goldie with Chaka Khan and Ciara
Goldie is currently in the US for the Grammy Awards taking place this Sunday in Los Angeles. Heard talks are going on between Ciara's management and Goldie's management, Kennis Music, about a possible collaboration between the two music stars. That would be awesome!

PREZZO BREAKS UP WITH GOLDIE

Since their love affair began officially on Saturday, May 12, 2012, the housemates have managed to remain a ‘couple’ despite their frequent fights.

However, it seems as though Kenyan rapper, Prezzo, is now finally done with his Nigerian ‘lover’, Goldie.

He confided in his friend, Keitta, yesterday, Wednesday, June 27, 2012 about how tired he is with his relationship with the singer.

In his words, ‘I’m not even eating the food she cooks from now on. I can make eggs. I am done. Watch this space. It’s time to bring the old Prezzo back…This chick is a weirdo and I found myself caught up in the mix.’

Even when Biggie played Goldie’s song, Prezzo complained, asking Biggie to change the song and play ‘real music’.

Fans and viewers of the show have since attributed Prezzo’s outburst to the argument he had with Goldie earlier in the week, after which a sad Goldie started speaking to herself.

One thing though: Goldie is yet to be informed of the break-up as Prezzo only confided in Keitta.

‘I DIDN’T ASK YOU TO SAVE ME’, PREZZO TELLS GOLDIE

Big Brother Stargame ‘Lovebirds’ Goldie and Prezzo had another big fight on Monday, June 25, 2012, and we all saw this one coming.

Barely a day after Goldie announced that she had saved him from eviction, Prezzo has made it clear to her that he actually didn’t need her to.

After a minor argument, the on-off couple tore each other apart, and Prezzo didn’t mince his words as he told the Nigerian exactly where to get off. ‘You are a quitter, you are a runner, run away like you always do’ Prezzo told Goldie, who tried to defend her actions.

‘Look beyond the action to the intention’ Goldie pleaded. Could it really be over between the two?

GOLDIE SAVES ‘BOYFRIEND’ PREZZO FROM EVICTION

Goldie has altered the eviction nominations in the on-going Big Brother Stargame all for one man – Prezzo

The singer replaced her ‘boyfriend’ with poor Keitta earlier on Monday, 18th June, 2012, when she was called upon to do the ‘Save and Replace’.

Goldie did this in the capacity of the Head of House, a position she resumed this week after beating her colleagues at the ice cream task last week.

Following this development, the eviction nomination now has the trio of Manetta, Barbz and Keitta on the list.

Musical Duo, Skuki In Public Fight Over Romance With Weird Singer, Goldie

Musical duo and brothers performing under the identity, Skuki are at war.

And the reason for this happenstance is tagged ‘the incursion’ of another artiste, weird singer- Goldie into their world.

Sources claimed one of the brothers, Atewologun better known as Vavavoom is currently enmeshed in a hidden but torrid romance with Nigerian version of international act, Lady Gaga- Goldie (real names Susan Olabimpe Harvey)

But his brother Timininu- stage name Peeshaun- is said to be against the affair.

Timininu is said not be comfortable with Goldie’s lifestyle in and out of public eye.

He believes the romance would lead to nothing but ‘trouble’ for the brothers.

The diverse opinion between the brothers on the issue erupted in a public fight recently.

‘The brothers engaged in a heated public row about the issue at the National Stadium Surulere’ a source divulged.

They were engaged in routine rehearsal when the happenstance came to be, witnesses confirmed.

What could have transformed an ugly physical engagement was reportedly put in check by the manager.

This was not before ‘they yelled at each other and poked fingers into faces.’

It is yet to be confirmed what sparked off that particular incident.

Confidantes divulged Goldie sent abusive messages to Timininu after the incident for ‘interfering in her love life and making it an unacceptable public spectacle’

The Skuki brothers- behind the hit song, Banger- are reportedly still walking on egg shell around each other over the issue.

Spokesperson for Goldie maintains ‘there is nothing like that’.
