On October 17, VDM announced the news via his verified Instagram account, expressing both surprise and profound gratitude for the unexpected donation. Previously, he had appealed to Nigerians and Zenith Bank for assistance in identifying the anonymous benefactor, emphasizing that he was not involved in any fraudulent activities and had no knowledge of the donor's identity.
Despite his efforts to reach out to multiple individuals, no one initially came forward. Later, VDM shared that Don Jazzy, whose real name is Michael Collins Ajereh, personally contacted him to confirm his role in the significant donation. In his message, Don Jazzy stated, “Morning bro. Just saw your post. Na me send 100m to support. I believe in what you are doing and trust you to be as transparent as you have always been. We really need that in our country. I wish you all the best with the project and more blessings to you. E no easy.”
Still in disbelief, VDM shared a video showcasing the message and the transaction receipt. He expressed heartfelt gratitude for Don Jazzy's generosity, noting that he never anticipated such a large sum from the music mogul. VDM explained that the NGO aims to support children in public primary schools who lack access to quality teachers.
