YouTube Star Christina Grimmie Shot By Man At Concert Who Later Shot Himself
A YouTube star was injured at an Orlando concert when an unidentified
gunman opened fire at her and then shot himself, according to police.
Attendees at the city’s The Plaza Live first reported a shooter just before 10:24 p.m. on Friday night, when boy band Before You Exit and Christina Grimmie were slated to perform.
Police identified the wounded victim as Grimmie, a 22-year-old singer who finished third on The Voice in 2014.
The show ended at 10 p.m. and the violence erupted afterwards during a meet and greet between the artists and fans, many of whom are in their early or mid-teens.
After opening fire at Grimmie, the gunman was tackled by her brother and then shot himself during the ensuing struggle, according to police.
