Woman arrested for putting nail polish remover in 17 month old stepdaughter's milk
A 36 year old woman in Carol Stream, Illinois, Andrea
Vazquez-Hernandez, was accused of putting nail polish remover into her
17-month-old stepdaughter's baby bottle and has been charged with one
count of aggravated battery and one count of domestic battery, according
to the DuPage County State's Attorney in Illinois.
Police say they were called to the Vazquez-Hernandez's home by the infant's father on May 29th about a child who may have ingested nail polish remover. Investigators who spoke with the victim's father, reportedly said that he had tried to feed his daughter milk in a bottle but that she immediately spat it out.
He said the child started acting funny so he immediately took his daughter to the hospital where several tests were performed on here but all tests performed there came back normal.
Investigators say that at some point earlier in the day the Vazquez-Hernandez allegedly added approximately one-inch of nail polish remover to her stepdaughter's baby bottle.
A judge set her bail at $250,000 on Tuesday.
