Ashaka cement loses $230million to Boko Haram attacks
Chairman of Ashaka cement, Suleiman Yahaya says continued attacks by Boko Haram in the Northeast has caused his company to lose $230million. Speaking during a meeting with the Emir of Gombe, Shehu Abubakar, over the weekend, Yahaya said the constant attack on his plant by Boko Haram members has drastically reduced their output.
He however stated that despite the attacks, his company is determined to ensure it was "one of the only surviving institutions in the entire north-eastern Nigeria".
