President Buhari, Shocked Everyone, Engaged In A Serious Argument With AGF During Meeting
President Muhammadu Buhari and Samuel Ukura, the Auditor General of the Federation, AGF, on Monday, disagreed over the environmental audit reports on the drying-up of the Lake Chad.
While Mr. Buhari noted that the report did not take into account the feasibility study conducted by a team under the tenure of former President Olusegun Obasabjo which cost the nation $5 million, the AGF insisted that the said study was outside his supervision, saying that Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC) has that responsibility.
But the president insisted that the AGF should proffer relevant explanations of the omission. A minor stir ensued in the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, where the presentation was made.
Following the silence and surprise that ensued, the President requested that someone should interprete what the AGF meant, and later asked the Executive Secretary of the LCBC, Ambassador Sanusi Imran Abdullahi, to give his side of the story.
