National Assembly Or House Of Boxers? By Adesina Oluwaseun
Read article below;
I cannot really say whether we've elected honorable members to make laws on-behalf of Nigerian citizens or have elected boxers into the national assembly.
The honorable members elect of the national ought to be role-model to the Nigerian Youth and the Nigerian populace at large but a reverse is the case in Nigeria National Assembly were men and women with timber and calibre could not make their grievances known and express in an appropriate manner than going through fracas to express their views.
Do we have to look for heft able bodied men and women to elect now into the national assembly considering the constituent fracas in the National assembly?
Yes, their will always be disagreement and misunderstanding in the gatherings of intellectuals like the National assembly but the interest of the country should always be our priority each time our honorable members are elected to make laws on-behalf of the public, they should not allow their personal and selfish interest and that of the party surpasses the interest of the country.
Power is transit and no one can be in the position of power forever, Yesterday, Senator David mark (A former senate president 2007 - 2015 ) is now a floor member in this present constituted national assembly, the current senate president (Senator Abubakar bukola Saraki) who left the People's Democratic party (PDP) for All Progressive Congress (APC) is now been saved and helped to clinched the senate president seat, the same party he had criticized condemned and above all brain-washed publicly on several occasions.
Even his so called friend Senator Rabiu KwanKwanso who left the PDP together with him, his against his senate presidency, it's just to tell you that no life champion but current champion you are there today does not mean you will be there tomorrow or forever and because this person stood by you today does not mean he/she will not betray you to tomorrow to actualize his/her selfish political ambition because politics its about interest.
My dear lawmakers, you are an honorary ambassador of the federal republic of Nigeria your action can either project Nigeria positively or negatively to the outside world. Nigerians have elected you to the national assembly to make laws and check-mate the excesses of other arms of government for a productive government and not to turn the national assembly to a boxing field.
Indeed, you are a role model the world are watching your actions while the younger generations are trying to emulate your actions and deeds. We are in the change era, Yes I can, Yes you can and together we can stand to make laws that will bring about a positive change that will help move Nigeria forward in making Nigeria a proud nation.
Long live the Nigeria National Assembly.
Long live the federal Republic of Nigeria.
