My Fiancee is Dying, Should I Donate My Kidney To Save Her Life?

My name is Victor Oghre. I live and work in Abuja. I am in a very big dilemma that I want fellow readers to advice me on what steps to take.

I have a fiancé I love so much and hoped to get married to her but the problem that is pitting me between the devil and the deep sea has to do with her health status.

Some months back, Ruth fell ill and after various tests were carried out on her, it was discovered that she had kidney issues and one was at the verge of failing.

The only way of saving her life is for her to get a transplant. Naturally, I decided to donate one of my kidneys and luckily, further test result showed my kidney would match with her.

But the problem here is that my mother would have none of that. I am her only son and with my father late, she sees me as the father of the house.

When I broke the news to her, she almost had a nervous breakdown and told me that the day I go under the knife, I cease to be her son and I should never see her face when she dies.

Meanwhile, Ruth is dying in the hospital and her people are not even helping matters.

What do I do? Should I disobey my mother and save my fiancée?

Would you donate one of your kidneys to save the life of your lover?
