Don’t Leave Kwara PDP, Party Leaders Beg Saraki
The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have pleaded with Senator Gbemisola Saraki not to leave the party at this crucial moment that elections are very near. The party leaders became worried ever since the well-known politicians have been snubbing major PDP events in the state.
It was also reported that a said amount was given to her, for her to mobilize her followers to come and meet President Jonathan the last time he was at Ilorin, but she rejected the amount and snubbed the event. The uncomfortable party leaders have however released a press statement, urging the senator to remain in the party and not let voices of division to overwhelm them. Hear them;
“Although we are relieved by the assurance that the rumour of the possible defection of Sen. Gbemi Saraki is false and unsubstantiated, nevertheless, we consider it expedient to implore Senator Saraki and her teeming supporters not to allow the voices of division to overwhelm them.” Continue...
“At this critical time in the life of our party in Kwara State, we believe that all hands must be on deck to sustain the party and lead it to victory in the forthcoming polls.”
“We believe Senator Gbemi Saraki has made invaluable contributions and sacrifices for the PDP in the state and beyond.
“We particularly noted her maturity and sportsmanship before, during and after the party primaries which produced distinguished Senator Simeon Ajibola as the party’s governorship candidate,” the statement read.
