Gunmen kidnap Plateau ex-governor's father

Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on Saturday kidnapped Pa Dariye Defwan, the 87-year-old father of the former governor of Plateau State, Chief Joshua Dariye. He was abducted at his residence in Mushere, Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The source, who asked not to be named as he is not permitted to speak for the family, said the kidnappers fired gun shots in the air to scare residents of the area before the victim was abducted and taken to an unknown destination.
