We Are Not Happy With Mr. President – Igbo Youths
The youth wing of the foremost socio-political body in Igbolaland, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has said that it is not happy with the performance of President Goodluck Jonathan as well as other Igbo’s working with him.
The youth wing accused the president of ignoring them as well as failing to fulfil numerous promises he made in the build-up of 2011 presidential elections even after they garnered about 98% of the votes in their regions.
In a communiqué titled a “A stitch in time saves nine,” the youths complained bitterly about the following uncompleted projects;
· Revamping the coal industry in Enugu
· Construction of Second Niger Bridge through public/private partnership
· Construction of the Azumini seaport
· Acceleration of the dredging/expansion of Port Harcourt and Calabar seaports
· Exploration of oil deposits of the Orashi and Anambra River basins
The youths are mostly angry that the president met with their elders whom they say might not even appear at the polling stations come election day.
