4 More Nigerian Soldiers Sentenced To Death for Mutiny
A military court martial has sentenced four more Nigerian soldiers to death after finding them guilty of mutiny.
The soldiers, Bankole Taiwo, Ayodele Olawale, Isaiah Olofu and Adebayo Gbenga are set to die by firing squad.
The court delivered its judgment during a sitting in Abuja on the night of Wednesday, December 24. One other soldier, Sule Ochehepo was discharged and acquitted.
The latest judgment comes about a week after 54 soldiers were also sentenced to death for mutiny and refusal to fight against Boko Haram.
An initial death sentence was passed down in September on 12 soldiers who allegedly fired at their commander after blaming him for a terrorist ambush which claimed the lives of their colleagues.
