MICHAEL SCHUMACHER PARALYSED, WHEELCHAIR-BOUND, UNABLE TO SPEAK

Formula One legend Michael Schumacher is paralysed in a wheelchair and unable to speak, according to his friend and former driver Philippe Streiff.
Schumacher, a seven-time champion, was left brain-damaged and fighting for his life after a ski accident in the French Alps last December. His close friend and former racing driver, Philippe Streiff, says that the 45-year-old cannot speak and has memory problems.
“He is getting better but everything is relative. It’s very difficult. He can’t speak. Like me, he is in a wheelchair paralysed. He has memory problems and speech problems.”
Schumacher, a competent skier, was skiing off-piste when he struck a partially-covered rock, causing him to be thrown forward 34 feet and on to another rock, which split his helmet. The 45-year-old is now being cared for at his home on the shores of Lake Geneva.
