Ebola Patients Are Receiving Adequate Attention- Dr. Idris Clears The Air
Against the report on Thursday that victims quarantined in the Mainland hospital, Yaba have not been receiving adequate medical attention, the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris said yesterday that the statement is far from the truth.
Speaking with journalists yesterday, he said though the Lagos State Government is yet to receive a penny from the N1.9bn intervention fund approved by the Federal Government to fight Ebola in Nigeria, the State Governor, Raji Fashola has being funding the medical expenses so far.
“All the money spent on the health of the Ebola victims were funds released by Governor Babatunde Fashola. Perhaps the Federal Government will release it later. But for now, we are grateful for the technical support the Federal Government has given us in the fight against the virus,” he said.
He also called experts in different medical fields to volunteer themselves by coming for training so that they could help at this critical time, when more hands are needed.
