Don't Panic, We Can Handle Ebola - UCH
As many citizens panic over the spread of the Ebola disease in Nigeria, the management of the University Teaching Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, the Oyo capital, have said that they can deal with the disease.
This was disclosed yesterday by the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the hospital, Professor Temitope Alonge during a news conference.
Alonge, while expantiating on the nature of the virus, said that UCH has the human capacity and facilities to detect and manage Ebola.
This he attributed to the fact that the hospital had set up VHF isolation precautions and taken other necessary steps to prepare for such incidences.
He also said that the hospital had begun to disseminate information on the disease via pamphlets written in English, Yoruba and Hausa.
The disease has so far claimed 2 lives in Nigeria, one being Liberian-American Patrick Sawyer who imported it and the other being a health worker who participated in his treatment.
