New Study Reveals How Using Smartphones And PCs Can Make One Fat
A new sensational American research suggests that using computer or smartphone during the night time may cause obesity.
The reason for extra kilograms lies in the blue light emitted by the said devices.
According to the research, exposure to the light makes you hungry for several hours, even if you had a meal before being exposed to the emission.
The study shows that users started feeling hunger 15 minutes after the light onset.
Speaking with Daily Mail, the research co-author Ivy Cheung stated the importance of the results obtained:
"A single three-hour exposure to blue-enriched light in the evening acutely impacted hunger and glucose metabolism. These results are important because they suggest that manipulating environmental light exposure for humans may represent a novel approach of influencing food intake patterns and metabolism."
The specialists, who used 10 healthy adults for the experiment, claimed however that more studies are required to specify the exact mechanism of action involved in the relationship between light exposure, hunger and metabolism.
