Chibok: Israel sends experts to hunt for abducted girls

Intelligence experts from the State of Israel have already arrived to Nigeria as a part of Israel’s assistance in the mission to locate and to rescue over 200 GGSS girls, kidnapped by Islamist Boko Haram sect over one month ago.

An undisclosed Israeli official informed The Reuters on May 20, 2014, Tuesday that the group of experts included specialists on solving hostage crises and other kinds of advisors.

President Jonathan accepted Israel's help during a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, on May 11, 2014, Sunday.

It would be added that military aircraft of the U.S. Air Force, both manned and unmanned, is already on patrol in Nigeria, searching for the missing students, while a British surveillance plane suffered a technical fault and had to make an unexpected landing in Senegal.

Israel has long-lasting cooperation in defence and security sphere with a number of countries on the African continent. The Federal Government of Nigeria, for instance, purchased drones and other surveillance equipment from it.

In September 2013 a group of Israeli advisers worked in Nairobi, Kenya, during an attack on a shopping mall by suspected Islamist fighters from Somalia-based Al-Shabaab group.
