Housewife urges court to dissolve marriage over childlessness

Law
A housewife, Mojisola Aina, on Wednesday urged an Ilorin Area Court to dissolve her five-year-old childless marriage to her husband, Tayo Aina.
The 30-year-old woman, a resident of Osere area of Ilorin,Kwara capital, told the court that she was calling it quits because the marriage was barren.
“I am getting frustrated by the day since there is nothing to show for the five-year-old marriage,’’ she said.
Aina regretted that the union which was contracted in 2009 had yet to produce a child.
“My Lord, I want an end to this marriage because I am no more interested.
“There is no joy in our marriage or home.’’
The husband, Aina, however, objected to the prayers of his wife, saying he is still interested in the marriage.
“I still love my wife and I believe she will one day bear a child for me as no man can produce a child except God.”
He urged the court to adjourn the case to enable them to reconcile their differences.
The President of the court, Mr Yusuf Abdulkareem, adjourned the case to May 6. (NAN)
